Frequently Asked Questions

Do you create portraits for animals other than dogs?

Absolutely! We can create a customized, dimensional portrait of just about any animal. Send us a picture of your pet and let the magic happen!

Do you send proofs of how the portrait will look before shipping?

We do not send artwork proofs before producing. This is to ensure the fastest turnaround time possible for all of our customers. If our team has any difficulty working with any of the provided images, we will contact you to make sure we get something that will make a beautiful portrait.

How many pets can be in a picture?

Right now, we can create portraits with up to currently (2) pets. When uploading pictures of your pets, please upload only individual pictures of each of the pets. Our design team has found the highest quality portraits come from working with individual photos.

How long will portraits take to deliver?

Due to the customized nature of Furever Portraits, our artists require setup time to create your masterpiece. Our dimensional portraits can be expected to ship within 2 weeks after ordering. Transit times vary based on location.

Do you offer pet names on the portrait?

Currently, we do not offer pet names on the portrait.

How do I take a good photo?

Take a portrait-view photograph (face and chest pointed towards the camera) in good, natural lighting.

In other words, have your pet fill as much of the screen as possible when taking the photograph. Do this by getting closer to your pet, not by zooming in, as zooming in can greatly lower the image quality. See here for good and bad examples of ideal photos. Do not apply any filters to the image before sending as it is best for our artists to begin with unedited photos.

Why doesn't my pet appear in he preview image?

The preview will only show an example of the selected background color, background structure, and art style. Rest assured, our artists will use your uploaded photo to set up your portrait with the art style, background color, and background structure you select!

How do I know how the art style will look with my pet?

All different pets and breeds of pet will look slightly different with each of our three artistic styles. Visit our style guide for an example of how the style may look with your pet. Note: Our style guide is always growing, so you may notsee your exact breed/ type of pet yet.

What if my pet is wearing a collar in their photo?

Collars are not a problem, but note that we will not remove the collar in your pet portrait, so make sure they dress their best!

Can you make a portrait without an artistic style applied?

Our dimensional technology requires a specific artistic style to be applied to the images by one of our specially trained artists in order to ensure the texture appears correctly and beautifully. Non-stylized images do not lend themselves to looking good with dimension applied, which is one of the reasons we built Furever Portraits as a piece of artwork instead of a simple print of a photograph.

What is “Background Structure”?

Background structure, also known as background texture, is the texture style for your portrait’s background area. You can view our three background structures, mid-century, argyle, and wood grain, on the Furever Portraits product pages. The colored parts of the background represent the area that will be embossed (raised), while the gray lines represent the area that will be flat.

What is “Art Style”?

Art Style is the general artistic look our artists will use to create your portrait. For a closer idea of how the styles may look with your pet, please visit our style guide.
